The second Twenty20 (T20I) International of the series will take place in Thiruvananthapuram after the first game concluded with an exciting match in Visakhapatnam. Under the leadership of skipper Suryakumar Yadav, the home team won the opening match of the five-match series by two wickets on the final ball of play, giving them a 1-0 lead. The Indian captain scored the game’s most runs to lead his team to a well-earned victory, but Josh Inglis of Australia stole the show with his first century.
The second edition of the five-match T20I series will take place on Sunday between Australia and India. In the opening Twenty20 international on Thursday, Rinku Singh’s poise helped a youthful Indian side to an exciting two-wicket victory in Visakhapatnam. Captain Suryakumar Yadav dismissed the disappointment of losing the World Cup final with a captain’s knock.
In T20 internationals, this was India’s most successful chase to date.
Rinku’s 22 out of 14 balls spared India’s blushes, but Suryakumar’s aggressive mood made a joke of a 209-run chase with 80 off just 42 balls. India required 14 runs off of 12 balls when Surya was out, but Axar Patel made a huge error, which resulted in the quick outs of players like Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh.
Rinku hit a massive no-ball to everyone’s joy, putting Sean Abbott in the stands with one ball remaining in the last delivery. As a result, the maximum wasn’t counted. And so, with a ball remaining, India triumphed.
